What is happening to us as we are being ministered to? I remember a time when people would come forward for prayer and the Spirit would touch them and heal them or touch them and they would surrender to Him. God has not changed because the bible says; Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). So, with that being said, the change has to be with us. We have to be the reason we do not surrender to God.
Here is something I have noticed over the past few years that is in my opinion keeping us from being touched by the hand of God. Ministry time comes and I watch people who I really know needs to have a touch of God in their lives and yet they turn and walk out of the sanctuary because they have to get into the foyer to socialize. Then there are those who have a look on their face that everyone is going to see me walk forward and think there is something wrong with them. Then there is the one that bothers me the most, you see those come forward and you can sense that they really do not believe that God can touch them. All of these are our fault and our fault alone. We can’t blame the person next to us or our spouse or the pastor, it is totally, 100% our fault. We need to know that God loves us and in that love wants us to be whole. God wants us to be touched and He doesn’t care what others think. You should not care what everyone thinks because they have to work out their own salvation and besides they cannot change your situation anyway. Only God can heal you, only God can change your heart, only God can move in your life so that you will never be the same. If we will learn how to get past what others think or what others might say we stand a great chance of being touched by the hand of God and we will be made whole. Your socializing can wait because your soul, your life is far more important than your socializing. Something I learned about being social is that it opens you up for the possibility of gossip. Maybe it is not intentional but it sometimes happens anyway. We need to learn how to surrender and how to maybe realize for the first time, how much God loves us. If we release our life into the hands of God we will be healed, we will be saved, we will be set free. We need to allow the Spirit of God to move in our lives. We need to allow the Spirit to have his way and touch us. So what if you are standing there and the Spirit of God comes on you and you fall in the Spirit. That is what it is all about anyway, releasing ourselves into the Hand of Jesus and letting Him touch us. Now is the time for us to stop worrying about what others may think or say and start thinking about how much God loves us. Now is the time for us to surrender and accept the things God has for us. The next time the pastor says if you need prayer come forward and there will be those up front to pray with you, then you need to put aside all of your agenda and go because it will be the best decision you ever made. God will touch you and those people who you were planning to socialize with will still be there. It is amazing how that works. If they are not there then they either came for prayer themselves or missed out on a mighty blessing of God. God wants you all to know that He loves you and He want you to accept His Glory and stop battling inside yourself and be healed in the Name of Jesus. God wants you to have the very best and His very best is Jesus Christ. Let God take away your burdens. Allow Him to touch your body and heal you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. In the Name of Jesus I pray that you will surrender and not let your surroundings dictate how you will react to a call of the Master. I pray that you will allow the Spirit of God to purge your entire body and work wonders in your life. I pray that you will be a light where ever you are and in whatever you do. Be the light to a co-worker, be the light to family members, and just be a light for Jesus Christ. Go forward and get what is coming to you and allow those who are around you to make their own decisions. Let God touch you in ways that you have never thought of and surrender. When we allow the Spirit to minister in our lives we will be changed from the inside out on we will never be the same, no never. God loves you like no other and you are the apple of His eye. The love that He has for you will never fade and never change. Let Him speak into your life today and surrender.
