Let me share with you a fact. You may not even know of this fact, or if you do, you probably don’t even think about it. I did spend a lot of time thinking about it and I want to share with you what God shared with me about it. What is the fact? The fact is God loved Judas even up to the time he hung himself.
You might say that Judas was condemned for betraying Jesus and there was no possible way because of that fact. But, you would be wrong. God loved Judas just like he loves you and me and did up until the end. Had Judas of asked for forgiveness and sought repentance for what he did God would have forgiven him because he loved him. "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:3-4). Judas condemned himself because of the pain and condemnation he was feeling for what he had done to Jesus. Judas did not ask for forgiveness nor did he seek repentance for his error. Had he asked God to forgive him and truly repent, then God would have saved him. The same truths hold true in our lives today. If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then now is the time. You may not have another chance, this may be the only chance you get. You have no idea when you are going to die and there is no guarantee that you will know when it is about to happen. One second, here, next second, gone. There is another fact that you should be aware of to help you in your decision if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior. That fact is that one out of one of us are going to die. There is no getting around it and though you may think you have plenty of time, that just might not be the case. People die every day thinking that they would have more time and the sad thing is that many of them die in their sin and never come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Think of it this way, in Matthew 20 1:16, Jesus told a story about how a farmer paid the same wages to those who worked for him whether they worked eight hours or one hour. Those who worked eight hours were upset because the farmer paid those who only worked one hour the same amount that he had paid them. You will have to read the story, but the same principle applies to how God looks at us. Whether you have known him for fifty years or five minutes he loves us all the same. Had Judas of just asked God to save him, he would have been saved. Same thing with the thief on the cross with Jesus. The thief simply asked Jesus to remember him when he got to where he was going (paraphrase) and at that very moment the man was forgiven and died going to heaven. It is never too late unless you just flat out ignore the offer. There are those who will die and never know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and will perish into an eternity in hell. There will be those who will just by the skin of their teeth make it to an eternity in heaven. Which category do you find yourself in? I said that it is never too late and that is true but there is an exception to that. That exception is this. One day Christ is going to return and the Bible says that when the trumpet sounds Christ will return and at that point it is too late. You will not have another chance to accept Jesus, it will be over. Why would you want to wait? Will you wait because your friends may laugh at you or those around you? Fact, your friends or family cannot get you into Heaven, only knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior can do that. (John 14:6). Going to church cannot get you into Heaven, only knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior can get you there (John 14:6). This is what the Word has to say about putting it off because you may be embarrassed or concerned about what others will say, whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26). Accept Jesus today and do not delay because time is running out. Judas had the opportunity but did not do it because he thought what he had done was unforgivable. There is nothing you have done that God will not forgive you for, all you need to do is ask and when you ask you shall receive. (Matthew 7:7) Remember this, God loves you and always will. Accept his call today and know that you know, when you die you will be with him in heaven.
