How Much Does God Love Us?

I know I always talk about it and I will always talk about it, but have you ever really sat down and thought about just how much God loves us. I mean really thought about it and nothing else. There will be those who are sure they are more righteous than the rest who will say of course God loves us, but I am not sure they really comprehend just how much. This is where I got today, I couldn’t help but think about how much God loves us and the more I thought the more I could not comprehend that kind of love.

We really have no idea of the love of God. We think that we do but there is no way. I am sure that there is not one of us who have ever felt that love because we always try to compare it with what we have in person. We can only look at what we feel from our family, our spouse, our kids, but like I said I am almost positive we cannot even hit close to all of the love that God has for us. I would love to be able to explain it to you, but there is no way I could even get close. About the only thing I can suggest is that we try to think that deep or that intense that we understand but I still don’t think we can do it.

Here is about all I could come up with which is nothing more than a very poor attempt at an explanation. The source I have is the bible and what I sensed in prayer, other than that nothing. The bible says in John 3:16, “for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son” and the thing about that pretty much explains the whole thing. God loved us SO MUCH that He gave and He gave the very best. I am not sure, but I don’t think there would not be a single one of us who would give up our son or daughter for any reason let alone for another human, and God gave His only Son, the apple of His eye, the one He loved the most and in whom He was well pleased just for us knowing that when He did it that Jesus would have to die on the cross so we could be forgiven.

Jesus must have loved us just as much as God did (dah) because He came willingly knowing what was going to happen to him and yet He still came. If that is not love for us then I really have no idea. I would really love to find the way that could actually reach those who don’t want to hear about Jesus and be able to explain to them that love in a way that they instantly become of follower of Christ, but then I would be having a foolish dream I know that there will be those who will turn Him away even on the last breath of life. There will be those who no matter what you say or do will never turn from their wicked ways and the bible tells us that. If you don’t believe me and think that if they saw what God can do it would change their way of thinking. But, look at all of the people who were actually there when Jesus walked on the earth and yet they still chose Barabbas and demanded that Christ be crucified. Or look at all of the people who witnessed the miracles that followed Jesus and they still called Him evil and wicked. Believe me there will be those who would complain if they were hung with a brand new rope.

God loves us and I know that He loves us with a love that goes far beyond all understanding and yet I would still love to get deep enough that I can even half way fathom what that would be like. I will keep trying to go even deeper as should you. We may never understand just how much God loves us to the nth degree, but as long as we know He loves us it is more than enough. Think about it, if you want to know how much God loves us, just look at how much He loves Jesus. I know that I can feel His presence, and I know what the bible tells me about Him and the only thing I can think of is how much He loves me. I am blessed far beyond anything I can ever understand and I give all of the praise and glory to God because without Him I would be absolutely nothing, as would you.

Let me leave you with the only thing I do know and that is God loves you and I with a love that goes deeper than anything we could ever fathom or think of and that should be enough. The bible says it and I believe it and that is enough for me.

God Changes Us!

As I was sitting here this morning watching television all of a sudden it was brought to my mind of how much God loves us and how much He really wants for us. God begins to change us at that very instant we ask Jesus into our lives.

I saw a video of the late Robin Williams in one of his standup acts. I only watched a few seconds of it because of the language he used and then it came to me that I was once that way, but God. It is always but God. I don’t speak like that anymore because God changed me from the inside out. It had never really dawned on me because the change came over a period of time and I did not even realize that it was happening. Of course as a Christian, our vocabulary should not include gross or vulgar language.

When I prayed I began to ask God to touch those Christians who find no problem with their language because everyone does it. That makes no difference that everyone else does it because number one you are not everyone else, you are a child of God. Second, if everyone else was jumping off a cliff would you do it also? God has called us to be separate from the world. He has called us to not do what the world does and learn to do what Jesus did. That is how I realized how subtle change comes into your life. One minute you are doing this and then a few days later you are doing that instead and you never realized it.

Change begins to come when we make the decision to do what Christ is doing. In 1 John 4:17, the bible says that as He is in Heaven so are we on this earth. Change comes if we set our eyes upon what Jesus is doing in heaven and now on what is going on in this earth. Our goal in life is not to spend eternity here and doing what we do now, it is to obtain heaven in our lives and be with God the Father for eternity in Heaven. We need to change, we have to change because that is the only way we are ever going to have peace in our lives. If we have spent most of our lives chasing after dreams or focused on the wrong that has been done to us then we have spent it foolishly. I have been there and I have done that. It was only when I began to seek what God had for my life that things began to change and my thoughts also began to change. It was no longer important for me dream about things that were probably unattainable for me and it was definitely not important to waste my life holding a grudge against others. The only thing that seemed to matter was I need Jesus. I want to do what Jesus does; I want to do what He did when He walked this earth. I want to reach out in the Name of Jesus to those who have no idea who God is or what He can do and ask God to change their lives.

God changes our lives every minute of every day whether we realize it or not. Suddenly, you find that you are not doing things you use to do or you are not acting the way you use to act and you begin to give the glory to Jesus who changed you. God changes you to make you a better person, to make you an obedient person, to make you a righteous person. He changes you to witness to others with all of the boldness and the confidence that you may have never known. God changes you and he does it in His way and in His time. Our response should only be Change me, Father! Make me the person you want me to be and set my feet upon the only path that leads to you. God changes you and He does it for His glory.

Oh How Much My God Loves You

A fact that can never be refuted is how much God loves you and I. The bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).NIV We all need to understand that we are the world, we are the ones that God so loved and loved us so much that He would give His most precious gift, His Son. If you can’t fathom how much God loves you then just look and see how much He loved Jesus.

God loves you with a love that can surpass all understanding. We have no idea of how much love that is while we were sinners but as we come to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior we began to tap into the wellspring of life. The rivers began to flow and yet we still really have no idea of the love of God. I really don’t think we can think that big or in that amount. We look at the love of our wife, our kids, our family and friends and there are reservations as to the amount of love they show. But, the love of God surpasses all of that and goes into depths that are bottomless. God loves us and the sooner we can understand that the sooner we will begin to live a life with Him.

There are those who need to get over themselves and realize for themselves just how much God wants them in His family. They gripe and complain on a daily basis. They hear about the love of God and yet they still refuse to accept Him and that is because they are blinded by the enemy. There will come a day the bible says when every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and my prayer is that we can reach those who don’t know Him and share with them the love that He showed to us and maybe just maybe help them to enter into the kingdom of heaven before it is too late.

God loves you and has always loved you. He wants to take you to places you have never been before and into His holy presence. If you don’t know Him today there is time right now to accept Him before it is too late. If you don’t know Him just say to Him right now, Jesus forgive me. I surrender myself to you and ask you to come into my heart and live. I want to experience the love the Father has for me and know that I am saved. I give you full authority in my life and ask you to touch me and to change me in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, tell someone what you have done. Get a bible and begin to read first in the Book of John then the Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) then on to the Psalms and Proverbs. Get yourself into a bible believing church and begin to fellowship with other believers and allow them to help you take the next step.

God loves you and wants to change your life today. Let Him!
