It is very sad to say but there are people all over the world who are seeking what only God can do but, they are looking in the wrong places. In the time when Jesus was on this earth and walked among the people, it really did not make much difference about what He did. The bible says in John 12:37, even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him.
That applies in today’s society because though there are miracles everywhere, they still do not believe and probably will never believe. Some people would complain if they were hung with a brand new rope, yet they want something miraculous to happen in their lives. They are not willing to give God an opportunity to touch their lives for whatever reason, but as the bible also says in Philippians 2:10-11, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. So, there will come a day when regardless of what they think, they will confess Jesus Christ and the sad part is they could have done that all along and would have been healed. People are seeking something and some of them have no idea what or who but they are seeking. They are looking to the world and they are not getting results and that leads them to who knows. There is an answer and the answer is, Jesus. They will say that how can we believe in something they cannot see and I would tell them that He is there. He is always there regardless of what is going on in our lives and He is always ready to help us. I recently seen a show on television and the people had been through a disaster and they were going to a cross and praying for help. I know that some societies it is proper or normal to go to the cross, but my question is why. The cross is empty, Christ left the cross and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, so they should be looking to heaven and not the cross. It really does not make any difference how you do it just as long as you do it. If you are seeking what only God can do then look to God and nowhere else. It says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. He will heal our land, our lives, our souls and every part of us, but we need to seek Him and Him alone. Follow your heart and not what you see around you. Your heart will not let you down because it is that part of you that knows and the part that Jesus will use to speak into your life. If you are seeking what only God can do, then seek God and He will do it. The world will bring nothing bur heartache and disappointment. Trust the Lord and you will find exactly what you are seeking from God.

The most important question I could ever ask, do you know Jesus? There are many who can say that they do but sometimes when push comes to shove and they are confronted they change their direction. It happened to Peter. Jesus told Peter that before the rooster crows he (Peter) would deny Him three times. Like us, Peter responded there is no way in this green earth I would ever deny you. But, as the story goes, he did and so the possibility is for us to do it as well.
There are those who get all religious and upright that try to use their own righteousness against those who would even question what they know. Forgive me for saying but religion will kill you and will interfere with your relationship with God. It is not about you but has everything to do with God. Get off of your soapbox and get down and seek Jesus. Throw religion out the door and get into a one on one relationship with Jesus and you will see what I mean. Relationship that is how you know you know Jesus. In the bible Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me.” No one comes to the Father except through Jesus, this means, unless you have a one on one relationship with Jesus Christ, you will never see the Kingdom of God. I am not making this up, Jesus said it in John 14:6 and if you want you can read it for yourself. A one on one relationship with Jesus and nothing else will do. Good works will not get you there, being a nice person and a good person will get you there, only a relationship with Jesus will get you there. So, the question still remains, do you know Jesus. If you cannot honestly answer yes to that question then you need to stop and look deep into your life as how to get to know Him. Don’t worry about those around you or those in your family because they can’t get you into Heaven, only Jesus can do that. You could say I have plenty of time and will consider it later, but what if now is later. What if your time comes to an end in the next five minutes? Later is here! What if you don’t stop to call out on the name of Jesus and you pass on from this world and do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, you are lost and will never enter the Kingdom of God. Sorry but that is the truth and we need to know the truth. John 8:32 (NIV) says, “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Jesus is the truth and when you have the truth in your life you have everything. You have the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE as well as an invitation to enter into HEAVEN. If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, there could never be a better time than right now to receiving Him. It is the easiest thing ever to do, just say, Jesus forgive me. Come into my life and become my Lord and Savior. I believe you came and died and rose from the dead just for me. Take my sins and cast them out and change me. I love you Jesus. Amen! Not hard at all just say it and mean it in your heart and you will be saved, then get yourself into a bible believing church to get the fellowship with other believers. God bless you and my prayer is that you do not delay and receive Jesus today. It is very amazing to me how time seems to drag when waiting on God to move in our lives. The other day I was joking with our board members and said that waiting on God is very hard because He seems to drag His feet but that is only a joke. God does things in His own time and if you need a little proof read Isaiah 55:8. The bible says “for my ways are not your ways nor are my thoughts your thoughts declares the Lord. Proof positive so just hang on because if He says it He will do it and in His time.
It is really not hard to wait upon God in fact it is a huge character builder. Everyone needs a little patience and none more than me. God is teaching me and I think I am learning pretty good, but that is my opinion. But, if there is anything that I know or have learned that would be wait on God because the rewards are far greater than you could ever expect. Some people don’t seem to have the time or the patience to wait, they try to do it on their own and then don’t understand why it didn’t work or why it failed. God gives them direction and that is all they need and then the race is on with the thought come on God catch up or I will leave you behind. They don’t stop to think about God called and they didn’t call themselves. I remember when I first got into ministry, I was so excited about being in ministry that with my wife in tow we headed out going to make our own open doors. The only doors that we found were the doors to poverty and a huge loss of our resources. We spent money on hotels and food when God did not tell us to go, we went on our own because I did not understand the concept of waiting for God to move and then go as He directs. Those days have come and gone and I have learned to wait because since then He has not let us down. If you are wanting something to happen in your life and you know that God has called you, wait. If there is anything that I could tell you or encourage you with it would be wait on God, because it is not going to happen until you wait on Him and then He moves. |
