Tubigon Bohol April 2006
After spending three days speaking at a National Churches Conference, I left Cebu with Pastor Ken Tagud, heading to do a jungle crusade on the island of Bohol. We had to take a freight ferry as that was the only transportation going close to where we were headed at Tubigon Bohol. Our boat landed and from there we had to take a rented van to where we were to be ministering.
I had no idea what I was about to get into and where it was going to be. We drove down what they called a road and then a road for about two hours. We finally came to a turnoff and off the road we went like we were four wheeling. We drove down what seemed to be nothing more than a foot path and there was nothing but trees and bushes. After about an hour driving I told the driver and Pastor Ken, I know what you are doing, you are taking me out in the middle of nowhere and you are going to kill me and take my money. They both assured me that there really was a church out there in the middle of nowhere.
We finally came to a big clearing and there it was, an open area with a tin roof over it. The worship team was warming up and practicing and they were the only ones around. I asked Pastor Ken if he was sure this is where the crusade was going to be held and he said he was. Well, it came time to start and the music started playing and there was still no one there. Pastor Ken assured me that they would come but somehow I did not think that possible due to there was nothing around and we were in the middle of nowhere. The worship team continued to play and I got totally lost in the worship. At the end of the music, people started clapping and I turned around and much to my surprise there were about a hundred people standing there and I had no idea where they had come from.
We started the service and spoke on healing and how much God really loved them. At the end of the service I asked all of them who wanted prayer to come forward and just believe that they have received it and God would hear them. The very first person I spoke with was a little old man, he came forward walking with a crutch and dragging one leg. I asked him what he wanted God to do for him and he told me that he just wanted to walk normal for the rest of his life. As soon as I prayed for him, he took the crutch and threw it as far as he could out in the trees and walked away, no limp just God and him.
The next person was a woman who was totally deaf in one ear and had a very hard time hearing in the other. Speaking through an interpreter she said that she was born deaf in the one ear and through the years her hearing had failed her. I told her that I was going to place my hands on her ears and pray for her and for her not to be alarmed. I placed my fingers in her ears and when I removed them she began to scream and I thought I had done something wrong. The woman kept screaming and I was trying to find out what happened when the interpreter told me she could hear. I asked her questions and she responded all times. She began to praise God and thank him for restoring her hearing. The restoration was not only in the ear that was failing but also in the ear that she was born deaf in. The woman actually ran away singing.
There were other people who were touched, but those two are the ones that God allowed me to witness.
