If it worked then it will work now!

Have you ever had things going on in your life and you have no idea exactly what to do, and then someone says to you that you need to break the curse of the things around you? They then tell you to do two things, first they tell you to anoint your door posts with oil and to top everything else off they tell you to walk around your house seven times. Your thoughts are, has this person lost their mind, or that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

If you don’t mind, I have said the very things and I have done it at the prompting of God. There is plenty of evidence in the bible that would validate what was said. First the anointing of the door posts represents protection. During the plagues that were occurring to Egypt the last plague was the Angel of Death and God told Moses to tell His people to put lambs blood over their door and that death would pass them by.(Exodus 12:1-13) The next was walking around your house seven times. In Joshua 6:4-20, God told Joshua to march around the Jericho seven times then sound the trumpet and then shout. They did as God had commanded and at the shout the walls came tumbling down.

So you might say what does that have to do with my problem and how in the world will that even help? The answer is very simple. When you anoint your door posts with oil you are saying God protect my home and all that is in it. Don’t allow the enemy to come in and steal from me any longer. Just as death passed by the Hebrews when their doors were anointed so will the enemy be held out because the anointing is far stronger than anything the enemy has and he is bound to pass by? The walking around your home is a symbol and represents your faith and how the enemy will fall just as the walls fell. You are showing God how much you want him to reign in your life and that you are ready to shout down the enemy that he may fall and come crashing down.

I know that this all may sound just a little bizarre, but I can assure you that whatever it takes to move God on our behalf even using what He had done and said thousands of years ago, we should use. The bible says that He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and with that truth He will use the same methods He used in the past to assure our conquering the enemy. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and to destroy and it is my belief that we should just trust God because He is the only one that has the answer and the only one who can destroy the enemy. “For without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5)” that is what Jesus had to say and that is a truth you cannot deny. When will we realize how much we need Jesus in our lives and how much He wants us to defend ourselves even if it means using what God used for the Hebrews?

We need to understand that against all that is in the realm of this world and this life it is impossible for us to do and we require God to see us through. Matthew 19:26 says, for man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Do you see it or did you just pass it by quickly, FOR MAN THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. If you don’t get anything else that I have written get this fact that with God all things are possible and that includes the problems you may be having and the disasters that you have been stricken with. God is the way and not only that but He is the Only Way.

I may not understand everything and every way God uses but it has always worked and who am I to doubt. Regardless of how ridiculous it may sound God uses the simple things to dumfound the wise, so I will just listen to Him and obey as He says it.
