We have been so blessed in our ministry to be part of the things that God has in store for us. We have been honored to be part of many great miracles, one of the biggest being hundreds of people getting saved. We have watched as God touched people in ways they never dreamed could happen to them. Let me share just a couple with you.
In November of 2000, we were on the island of Negros. At the end of the service we were praying for those who needed prayer. As we were praying, my wife brought up a young boy about six years old that had a huge tumor starting between his eyes, running down his nose which caused his nose to spread out across his face. The dad said that the doctors said there was nothing more they could do other than try to keep him comfortable. For some unknown reason, I could not accept that fact. So, against what others would say, I reached out and put my hand over the tumor and prayed in the Name of Jesus that the little boy would be healed. Fast forwarding to 2006, I was one of the keynote speakers at a National Churches Conference when a man came up to me and told me that I probably would not remember him, which I didn’t, but that he was the father of the little boy on Negros that we prayed for who had an uncontrollable tumor on his face. He said that he just wanted to let me know that the little boy was now twelve and doing great. Thank you, Jesus. In November of 2008, we were ministering in a church on the island of Leyte in the town of Tomas Oppus. In one of the evening meetings, we were praying for people when this lady was literally dragging her friend up the aisle. When they reached the front of the church she come up to us and said that her friend was going to get prayed for even if she didn’t want to. The friend told us that she had stomach cancer and the doctors said that they would only give her a month at the most. I began to talk with the lady saying to her, “you don’t want to be, here do you?” she replied with a resounding NO. She told me that people have prayed before and nothing had happened and for that reason she did not believe God could heal her. After a few minutes I said to her, “it won’t hurt so why don’t you just let me say a quick prayer and that she could return to her seat.” She agreed, so I prayed a simple prayer like “Touch her father in the Name of Jesus. She returned to her seat and we continued to pray for the others there. After a few minutes the pastor of the church came to me and said that I needed to come to the back of the church immediately. I followed him and as we approached the back I seen the lady who did not want prayer with what looked like a glow around her. I asked her if she was alright and she said that she felt light. I said, “Light, I don’t understand light. I asked her what had happened? She said that when she returned to her seat and sat down, it felt like a fire entered her body from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. I chuckled and told her that it was the Holy Spirit and that he had healed her from top to bottom. I told the pastor that she needed to go to her doctor so he could check her out and then if he didn’t mind would he let me know? About a month later, I received a call from my friend in Cebu that the pastor of the church in Tomas Oppus called him to have him let me know that the woman we had prayed for went to her doctor and there was absolutely no sign of cancer in her entire body. Once again Thank you Jesus. Those are just a couple of the healings God has allowed us to be a part of in the years we have been going to the Philippines. There are so many more, but I just wanted to let you know that when you surrender yourself to the things of God, he will make a way where there seems to be no way. We enjoy each and every time we hear yet another story from our pastor friend in Cebu each time we have a Miracle Service in yet another church. We don’t look for miracles to happen, they just happen because God wants to touch his people and make them completely whole. He has shown us these miracles to show us his power and how he wants to use us because of our willingness to be used. You see it is not about us, it is all about him. Not only can he use us but he wants to use you as well. The only thing you need to do is simply surrender to his will and you will see the mighty hand of God move. He has called every one of us to ministry and when we will allow him he will use us. We are nothing special. We are not well known and are for the most part invisible to everyone, but God uses us in so many ways. You don’t have to be known around the world or be someone famous for him to use you, you just need to be yourself and be willing. God, bless you in all you say and all you do. I would venture to say that at least seventy-five to eighty percent of Christians today have never witnessed about having Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Why? The answer to that can be complicated, but I doubt it, or could it be that they are afraid? What are they afraid of? What the person might say, that they would not know what to say, or the thought that probably passes through their minds, somebody else will do it.
People have this conception that only pastors or evangelists are the ones who can do that and not them. Wrong! God called us all to witness to others and tell them the love of Jesus, not just ministers. People say, I am afraid of what they may say or do, so what. Isn’t the love of Jesus far more important than what someone will say? Put yourself in their shoes. They may look great on the outside, but inside they are dying. Without Jesus, they are not only dying but they are lost. In 2 Timothy 1:7 says this, “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control”. Do you see what God did give us, a spirit of power and love and self-control? Those are the things we need to overcome fear. Someone once said to me that it is easier for you to speak to someone because you are and evangelist and that is your job. Job? I don’t think so! God told us all to go and make disciples of all nations, it is part of the Great Commission where he sends us out. It at the time was said to the disciples, but it is meant for everyone or God would not have put it in the Bible. Wouldn’t it be horrifying if the day of judgement came, and the person standing in front of you in the line, a person you have known for years, stepped toward God and was asked by him, why did you not accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? To which you hear them explain, I didn’t know about Jesus because my friend never told me. Your friend is lost with no second chance, but you will be judged for what you didn’t say. Witnessing is a very simple thing to do, if you truly love the Lord because you want everyone to have what you have, or at least you should. God speaks to us and you may hear him say, go tell that person over there that I love them. What do you do? If you are uncertain, go tell the person that God loves them. Don’t go over with an excuse like, this is going to sound strange or weird but God told me to tell you… Go over and do exactly what God said, no excuses, just fact, God loves you. As for me, I always keep the scripture in my mind that says, "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:32), that way there is no doubt and I don’t want to take any chances. Really, when it comes down to it, witnessing is very easy when you listen to what God is saying, and at the same time hard because your heart starts beating faster than normal, and you start sweating profusely, but when all is said and done, once you say it, there is this anointing that comes across you that fills your heart and touches your spirit. I have been fortunate enough as an evangelist to lead hundreds of people to the Lord, in restaurants, on the golf course, or where ever it is that God tells me, and I still get those butterflies and sweating every time. It is not that I am afraid, it is because it is something that God has put in all of us to let us know it is alright. So, the next time you hear a voice tell you, go tell that person that I love them, take a deep breath and step out. Walk right up to them, and tell them, Jesus loves you. Just three words, but three words that will change their life and yours in the process. Remember, Jesus Loves You! Just exactly what does that mean and why am I making that statement? It is very simple, God has called us to do a specific ministry in a specific place, and Satan is trying to discourage us in our efforts to raise the money to complete the tasks at hand. We do posts on social media to reach out to our friends and family as well as though we don’t really know but have accepted their friendship, only to have our efforts discounted and ignored. Over the past few months we have posted our requests and to date there has been zero responses. My response to that is Get Thee Behind Me Satan! If people are going to ignore our posts that is fine, but we are not going to allow the enemy to reach out to our friends and family to detour them from what God may be saying to them. We know what God has called us to do and there is no way the enemy is going to change that by trying to influence those we have contact with.
So, if you get posts from us asking for contributions and it is something that you are just not interested in, let us know. The silence is the enemy and we would much rather know that you don’t care than to have you just ignore our requests. We pray for each person the request goes out to for God’s guidance and his touch on your life. Yes, we are seeking your help but no it is not the only reason we try to connect. Your prayers mean as much to us as do the contributions and maybe even more. God said he would supply all our needs and the only thing he asked in return is that we do our part. He gave us our part by having us reach out by our posts on social media, our letters etc. to let people know what we are doing and how they can help. In other words, we are just being obedient to what he is telling us. When trying to raise money for really anything, it has to be, the hardest thing to do. Personally, I don’t like to do it, but God said so I do. When we post, what is on our heart, we always ask you to pray first and foremost about what God wants you to do and then ask you to follow what he says. When nothing comes back to us we think maybe we are insulting people or annoying them in some way. If that is the case, then please forgive us. But, that is why I say, “Get Thee Behind Me Satan”!!! In prayer, today, I realized that the enemy is not attacking us, but rather attacking those we are reaching out to by blinding their eyes not to see what we have said or listen to our requests. Get Thee Behind Me Satan, is my response to that. I ask you to pray and respond, not to our request for contributions because if that is meant to be then it will be, but, pray that the enemy will not detour you from the promptings of God. Respond to what we have to say by telling us what you think and what God is telling you. Our goal is not to obtain your finances, our goal is to acquire your prayers for God’s protection on our lives as we travel through some of the most dangerous parts of the world bringing the gospel. Yes, your contributions help us our immensely with the ability to do what we must do, but, your prayers are what gets us through. We have just one simple request of each of you. Let us know what you think! That is, it. We just like to hear from you so we feel like we are not speaking to a wall and that our posts just fall to the ground. If the truth be known, we need your prayers to keep encouraging us. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 God, bless you Steve & Lorraine Ream Good Sunday morning. As I sat praying this morning I began to have a conversation with God. As you all know, Lorraine and I are trying to raise funds for our upcoming mission trip to the Philippines. As I was praying, I heard God tell me to do yet another post asking for contributions to help. I said God you know and I know it is a waste of time because they fall on deaf ears and there are absolutely no responses to them. He said to me, are you the deaf ears as well? He said, I am speaking and there are those who will help, just as I am speaking to you telling you to write a post. You have no room to complain about deaf ears if you will not be obedient to what I am telling you. I instantly repented and here is my request.
We are seeking those who will cheerfully give to help us with our mission trip in July of 2017. We have a mandate of what we are going to do and every penny of what is given will go to that mandate. There are literally hundreds of people who live in the slums of Cebu and on the small islands who are going hungry because no one will help them. That is where we come in. In January of 2016 a Storehouse was started in Cebu City, Philippines that was designed to help these people. Our goal on this trip is to purchase as much canned goods and rice to fill that Storehouse and then maintain it every month to help feed these people. We know that we are Evangelists sent to bring the Word of God, but what we are doing is more evangelism by showing the Love of God in action and not in mere words. Showing people how much Jesus loves them by helping where we can. God loves these people just as much as he loves you, can you help today? If you hear God speaking to you, don't be like me and for a very short time have deaf ears. Don't take it to the place you have to repent because you ignored the voice of God. If you want to help us, you can go to our website at www.reamministries.com. You can give via credit/debit card at our secure PayPal site by clicking on the donate button, or you can mail us a check at our mailing address. However you choose, thank you! Finding that being obedient for me to what God was telling me has strengthened me and gave me a sense of accomplishment. Hear God's voice, listen, hear God telling you to do something, do it. There is a blessing coming your way when you respond to what he is telling you. Don't let it pass you by. God bless you Steve & Lorraine Ream I have a burning question for everyone, whether you are a Christian or not Do you want to hear God speak? I don’t believe that there is a person anywhere who would not answer yes if they were dead honest about it. Of course, we want to hear God speak to tell us what we need to do and how we need to do it. We want to know that we are alright or if we are going down the wrong path. Many people know that they are headed for destruction yet they continue in their ways either not caring or not knowing how to change it.
Do you want to hear God speak? Do you want to change your ways and know that you know you are saved and doing things the way God wants them done? I have an answer! It may not be the answer you are looking for, but it is the answer that I heard a long time ago that I have never forgotten. The answer is this, “Shut up, stop talking and listen”. That seems short enough and to the point. How can we hear God speaking to us if we are always the one doing the talking? That was presented to me in exactly that way and when I stopped talking it was amazing what I heard. God is not going to force himself upon you in any way. He will continue speaking to you whether you are listening or not. It is only when we stop talking that we can hear his voice. We spend our prayer time saying, God speak to me. God I want to hear your voice. God I need to know if I am doing things right. We just keep on keeping on and never stop long enough to get our answer. I know what I am saying because that was me. When I finally kept, my mouth shut and just waited upon God, I heard things that made me the person I am today. I heard that God wanted me to be in the ministry. I heard that God wanted me to lay hands on the sick. I heard that God wanted me to prophesy. I heard hundreds of things and they all pertained to how I can follow God and know that I know I would be in heaven with him one day. It was like he gave me a road map for my life if I would listen to him and then follow the directions. I know, I am a man and we never follow directions, but this is totally different. The directions given by God were going to be ones that would lead to eternal life and not to destruction. My heart hurts when I see those who have chosen for whatever reason to go their own way saying that they don’t need God or that he doesn’t even exist. I know those who have chosen to walk away from him because they think they can do it on their own. My heart aches because I know that one day Christ is going to return and for those who rejected him, it will be too late. You want to hear from God, then LISTEN! I am certain that you too will hear the same things because God is all about Love and he loves us like nothing else. Listen and you will know that he is God and that you are not losing your mind. Listen and you will hear what it is he wants you to do. Others can only guess, God will tell you straight away and you will know. You want to hear God speak? LISTEN. Praying this morning and contemplating the things that God has called us to do. My mind wondered back to when I was first getting into ministry and the things that God showed me. First, God told me what he was going to have me do. He said, “Lay hands on the sick and prophesy”. He then told me to reach out to the lost and tell them the Good News about Jesus and how he came to save them.
One thing that came to my mind about Salvation was what God had showed me in a dream back in 1994. Remember, God told me that I was to share the Good News and this dream was to show me just how important having a relationship with Jesus really is. I am going to share my dream and tell you that whenever I minister, I tell people about it so they will know. I saw myself ministering at a church and as I did my eyes kept being drawn to a little old lady sitting off to my left. I tried to not look in her direction, but usually within seconds my eyes would wander back to her. I felt that there was some significance in this woman, so I asked God, why he kept putting her in front of me? He told me that the woman had been in church since she was a small child. She had been a faithful servant to the church and whenever the doors were open she was there. He then told me that though the woman had been in church her entire life, when she died, she would go to hell if things didn’t change. This shocked me and so I asked the Lord Why? He explained to me it was because she had never given her life to Jesus. She had never asked him for forgiveness and invited him into her life. God told me that unless you have a one on one relationship with Jesus then you have nothing. He said you must accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. So, then my focus was on that woman, and it was the catalyst that has driven me all these years to preach salvation. John 14:6 says this, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. To put it simply, if you don’t have that one on one relationship with Jesus Christ and you think that just because you have been in church but have never asked him in, then you are not going to grace the gates of heaven. Jesus made it perfectly clear, and if we thing there is a way around that then we are sadly mistaken. If you are not sure, but want to make it a fact, then all you have to do is say, Jesus forgive me, come into my life. I make you my Lord and Savior. I believe that you came and died on a cross that I might be saved and then you were buried and was risen from the grave. Help me Lord and be my Savior. Amen! Simple and to the point. My goal is to never see that woman again and to tell everyone about the love of Christ and how they need him in their life. My goal has been to make you think. Think about the fact of making sure you receive Jesus into your life. Think about that woman and how doing good works will get you nothing. That receiving Jesus will give you eternal life. If anything, THINK!. I am considering making some changes to our web site, and would like to ask for your input.
I am not very creative and always try to keep things simple, you know the old saying, KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid, well that is me in a nutshell. I try to think of new ways but I would have a better chance of walking on water than coming up with creative ideas. Please, if you don't mind, would you take a look at our website at www.reamministries.com, and then let me know what you think? I do really need the help and want our site to be the best it can to reach the maximum number of people who are truly interested. Thanks in advance and may God bless you. There are so many people today who have the wrong idea about money. They say it is the money that causes good people to go bad. But, the truth is it is the love of that money that causes good people to go bad. They are put into a situation where maybe they had no money and then thrust into one where money is no object and the more they are around it the more the love begins to grow and the more money they need to have.
If we were to be honest with ourselves, there would not be one of us who couldn’t say that they have not dreamed of what life would be like if they had money and that money was no object. Being honest, I have done it many many times and I even think of what I could do with that money. I say to myself, how I could help this person or that person, this ministry or that ministry. Good dreams and with honorable intentions. But, if it were to be a realization, would that be the way it would be? Who knows, and that is probably why God has not blessed some without that money because of what they may do or how they might react if they had it. No, it is not the money that makes people go bad, it is the love of money. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:10, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. God knows our hearts and what we can handle. He will not put more on us than we can handle and for some that omission would be to have more money than they knew what to do with. The best example of how the love of money can corrupt a person would be to have you look at someone who wins the lottery. They lust after the money by constantly purchasing tickets for their chance at the millions only to maybe win it and then all of those dreams are thrown out the window and they purchase new cars houses and I have even read that they get into drugs. There are many stories of those who won the lottery, that within five years of winning are penniless and in deep debt. The love of that money took a good person and turned them bad. I have no idea why people get sucked in the way they do, but it happens and happens every day. We must realize, and I am sure we do, that we cannot live without money. We need it to purchase our everyday needs such as food, clothing and so on and so on. It is when we take the need for money and turn it into an obsession. Somehow we think that if we could just increase that money to twice or maybe even three times the amount we would be better off. Wrong, and the world is full of people who have gambled away what they had to end up with nothing. That need for money turned into the love of money and then they were disappointed because they could not capitalize on it. Like I said before, it is not the money that is bad it is the love of money that is bad. We need to be satisfied with what we have and pray and ask God to increase what we have. I have witnessed it in my own life, I have a need and there is no way I can meet that need but at the moment I need it it is there. Let me share with you a short story to prove my point. It was back in about 2004 or 2005, I was out of work and we had bills coming due. My wife and I sat down one evening and asked God for his help in meeting our obligations. At the time we needed $651 to pay our bills and be current. The day come when the bills were due and disappointment was setting in. I decided to walk to the mailbox to see what had come in. I opened the box and there was an envelope and it was not placed there by the mailman. I opened the letter and there was a note that said, “Because I love you. Jehovah Jireh” there in the letter was a cashier check for exactly $651. No need to tell you how ecstatic I was. I said all of that to say this, we need to put our trust and faith in God and he will provide not only what we need but he will go far above and give us MORE THAN ENOUGH. Don’t get drug into the trap of the love of money but be set free by Jehovah Jireh (God our Provider). God loves you and when you ask and seek him, he will give you the desires of your heart. I would like to share with you what is on my heart. Every day I sit and just begin to ask God what? I ask him things that about things on my mind even though I know that he already knows, but I am looking for answers. He knows my heart when others have no idea. I wish I could keep my focus, but I am a simple man with simple thoughts and when I see things that are keeping others away, I need to ask God to show me. I would like to say that I get it, but sometimes, I don't.
As I sit and ponder on what God is doing in my life today, I feel his presence and he is saying to me, "don’t give up and continue that path that I have set before you". He has also asked me why I no longer bring words as I have done before that he has given me. In my mind, I tell him that it is because they fall on deaf ears. He already knows, but I say to him, that the churches today are no longer interested in the gifts of the Spirit. They no longer recognize the gifts unless they are the ones presenting them. People in their congregations are in need and they need those gifts, but the pastors have an attitude of, unless I say it, it is not from God. They have a select few who they may let say something but other than that, everyone else is off limits. They say these things with the justification that they are protecting the flock. What happened to discernment? Have the pastors forgotten about discernment and how you can show them in the Spirit? God I don’t want to be disobedient, but I need you to show me. I need you to speak to my heart and teach me. I can’t do this without you and need your presence in my life. I have so many questions. It seems to me that all the churches today want people in the seats and they don’t care, if more people come. I sit through a service and from worship to the end of the message I hear no invitation for those who don’t know you to come and as a church we will pray for them. All I seem to hear is, (at the end of the service), if you want prayer or want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, come up and there will be someone who will pray for you and the rest have a great day. God I ask you, what kind of an invitation is that? At that, God said to me, “You do what I have given you and I will do what I have established. Always remember what was said in Isaiah 55, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. With that I decided it was time to share what God is saying. Not only does is apply to me, but is applies to each one of us. I don’t know if anyone else have the same thoughts, but that does not make a difference because it is not about us but about God only. Whether we agree or disagree, the only thing we must do, is what God has given us and he will do the rest. We are still amazed that God chose us to minister in the Philippines. We have been going and ministering to not only the churches and pastors, but to those who live in the slum areas as well as on the small islands. I guess it is really, no wonder why he chose us, the people of the Philippines are warm and though in great need, they are very happy and friendly.
Once again as you know, God has us going back to doing something just a little different than before. We normally go and speak in the churches and do mini crusades where people come to be healed and set free as well as receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This time we will be attempting to work with some store owners, trying to get canned goods at cost so that we will be able to provide for those in desperate need food for their tables. With every trip that we take, we make sure we include a feeding program in the slum areas and the small islands if for nothing more than to provide a meal for them. Earlier this year, we started a storehouse in Cebu Philippines, where we provide not only food but clothing as well. God touched our hearts when we were there in November of 2013, just a week after the super typhoon that devastated many of the surrounding areas from Cebu and we began to ship Macho Boxes of clothing from the US directly to Cebu to be given out in the slums and small islands. To date, we have been able to ship thirty-six boxes of mostly new clothes and have purchased tons of rice, and it is all due to your efforts to help us. Once again we are reaching out to you to help us return to the Philippines. We know that God has a mighty plan and we are blessed to get to be a part of that plan. We are asking that you kneel before God and ask him what he would have you do and then follow through with what he tells you. There is no amount too small and everything is tax-deductible. The money will help us greatly to provide the things that we know the people need and give us the opportunity to minister to their Spiritual side. Many are not saved and we want to be a part of their Salvation doing God’s work. If you are interested and would like to help us, please contact us either by private message on Facebook, or go to our website at www.reamministries.com, where you can get our mailing address or give online through our PayPal secured site. Whatever you choose, we appreciate your support and we do look forward to hearing from you. God, bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26.
