Be a person of integrity and not one who says they are going to do something and then either at the last moment back out or just don’t do it. Be cautious because in my experience I have found that some people make up a story so they don’t have to follow through with their commitment. Making up a story to get out of something is the same exact thing as lying and that is a sin. Some would say not really it is just coming up with an excuse because they have something else planned. It is still a sin no matter how you look at it. A little white lie is still the same thing as a full blown murder in the eyes of God. You can think what you want but sin is sin regardless.
In my experiences I have had people say they were going to do something or they were going to give to our ministry, only to find that was not the case. To those who have done that it is all right, I forgive you. For those who continually do that be careful with your words because God is watching and listening. Why do I say these things? I say them because it is high time we become people of integrity. What we say we should do and do it as unto the Lord. When you tell someone you are going to do this or going to do that, do it. There are circumstances that cause some people to have to go back on what they said, but tell the person the truth of the matter and be a person of integrity. For example, if you are quitting a job and you give your employer a two week notice, then stay the entire two weeks right up to the end of the shift and then leave, don’t tell them and then never show up again. That is not integrity. I remember a few years ago I resigned my position from a very hostile situation. I gave the employer a months’ notice so they could replace me. I cannot tell you the joy and the peace I felt as on that day I walked out with my head held high knowing that I left a man of integrity. There are examples for you to watch if you look for them. Follow that example and I for one can guarantee you will know that you know you have done the right thing not only in the eyes of man but in the eyes of God. If you tell someone you are going to help them, then help them. If you tell someone you are going to do this, then do it. Feel the joy and satisfaction when you know that you have followed through with what you have said. Be that person of integrity that God made you and you will never be the same again. Follow your heart and you will always do the right thing.

ha nks dcfor sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
