I overheard a conversation the other day and the people who were talking were saying that there is no way the world will never come to an end and that it is just hype by Christians to get people to come to their church. I could not set by and let them think that way so I had to interrupt and tell them the truth. I asked them if either one of them read the Bible to which the answer was no. I asked them then if they have ever heard the stories from the bible about then end of time. One said that she had but the other said that she had never been to church
I proceeded to tell them that the stories of the Bible are true and that Heaven and Hell are real. God one day is going to return and when he does the earth will be destroyed with some going one way and others going another. I mentioned the fact that I don’t care if you go to my church or anyone else’s church for that matter of fact, but I do care that you heed the words of the Lord and listen to what is going on. I told them if they don’t believe in Christ it is between them and God but, if they don’t believe because they think he doesn’t exist, then they should read the book, A Case for Christ, and even better that they read the Bible.
They told me thank you for your concern but that is only your opinion. I left them with one scripture for them to ponder on. That scripture is Matthew 24:36, "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” And when he returns, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I also left them with this, John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me” and I told them that if they would seriously want to be in Heaven when time ends, through Jesus is the only way. I went about my way thinking to myself, these women don’t have a clue and I just hope they at least heart just a portion and will seriously consider what I said.
Like those two women, many may know what is about to take place but the enemy has clouded our thoughts and minds making us think that nothing is going to happen. We are missing the mark. Our minds are now focused on what the professional football players are saying and doing (me included) rather than the fact that the Bible tells us to keep our focus. Luke 21:34-36 "Be on your guard--see to it that your minds are never clouded by dissipation or drunkenness or the worries of this life, or else that day may catch you like the springing of a trap--for it will come upon every inhabitant of the whole earth. You must be vigilant at all times, praying that you may be strong enough to come safely through all that is going to happen, and stand in the presence of the Son of Man."
Jesus is going to return and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Like Peter in the boat when he walked on water, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus because he is the only thing that matters. He will return so don’t miss the mark. Look at the signs and pray and seek God for Salvation, for Deliverance, for Direction, for His hand to be upon us. Soon and very soon we are going to experience the presence of God and if you don’t know him, the results will be catastrophic. Jesus made a way and that way will lead you to the Father. If you don’t know him today, then there is no time like right now to know that you know. Simply ask Jesus to forgive you, surrender to him and you will know and experience Heaven. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6. You want to see the Father then you need to have that relationship with Jesus. There is no other way
Make it a point to focus on what the Bible and God is saying and don’t be one who will Miss the Mark.
God bless you and my prayers are with you.
