Have you ever noticed how fast a storm will come? That is how sometimes a storm comes into our lives, one minute all is well, then a storm, lost job….illness…sick child…death of a family member or friend. We are not ready, we don’t understand why?
When a rain storm comes we always look for shelter so we can get out of it until it passes. That is what we need to do when storms of life come we need to run to our shelter JESUS! He is always there to hold you until
the storm subsides. Nahum 1:7 says “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust him. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble. The whole chapter talks about God being there.
When we trust that the Lord is going to be there and help us through this storm we come into the SON who shines so bright through the storm and you are thankful HE was there.
Jeremiah 17:7 says “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord whose confidence is in him.”
The outcome of our storm might not be what we thought but we will have the confidence and strength to go on with peace and strength.
God has never promised a life free from storms, but he has promised to be with us in the midst of them and to bring us safety to the other side if we believe in him and rely on him.
Needing strength pray this prayer today:
“Jesus be with me as I go through this storm. Give me strength, wisdom and peace. Thank you Lord for what your doing now and in the future in me through me and for me. In Jesus name, Amen”
This is a new beginning for me today starting this blog on our webpage. I am not a writer but my heart is to encourage and help others to get closer to the Lord and live a life full of His strength and Joy.
Have you ever wonder what your life would have been like if you would have listened to that still small voice in your heart that said “Let it go.”
So many of us continually live in the past, we cannot change the past put we can sure make the future better. If we stay in the past it is the enemy the devil to keep us stuck there so we are unable to do what God has asked us to do.
There is always a stirring in our hearts to move on. But we seem to hold on to the past and let it hold on to us. God’s word is the only thing that can touch our lives so we can move on to what God has planned for us.
Philippians 3:12-14 says it so well, “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, (sisters) I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
May times I have read this scripture and ask the Lord to help me let go of the past and see what he has for me in the future. The Lord always has our best interest at his heart and we have to really get real with ourselves and let God do the work. We need to do our part and study the Word for ourselves and then let God help us move on.
I hope this helps you as you think on your life and get free from what holds you back serving God totally without any reservation. Time is short and we need to serve God with a pure heart.
