A recent conversation with a young man showed me something that really needs to be addressed. I asked the young man if he was a Christian to which he replied, “I listen to Christian music”. I hated to burst his bubble, but I told him, just because you listen to Christian music does not make you a Christian no more than walking into a garage makes you a mechanic. He said that he was told that all you have to do is to do the right thing and you would be okay with God. Once again I told him that does not make you a Christian. What makes you a Christian is you surrendering to Jesus Christ and turning your life over to him. You have a relationship with Jesus and follow what he shows you. You accept him as your Lord and Savior and turn away from the things of the world. It was at that point I asked him if he wanted to receive Jesus into his heart and he said yes, praise the Lord.
How about you, are you a Christian or do you think that by your good works and listening to Christian music makes you a Christian? It is not too late right now to accept Jesus into your life and start a relationship with him. The only need required is that you surrender and repent. Say, Jesus I accept you into my life. Come and change me, I surrender to you and ask you to be my Lord and Savior. Not too difficult but the biggest change in your life that you will ever have. Know that you know that when you die you will be with him in heaven. Know that your name is written down in the Lambs Book of Life. Get into a bible believing church. Get a bible and begin to read it. If you don’t know where to start, try starting with the Gospel of John and then go from there. Read the bible and listen to what it is saying to you then just follow it.
God wants all of us to be saved and though there will be many who will reject him he still loves them. It says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me”. In other words, you will never see heaven or the Father unless you have a relationship with Jesus and receive him as your Lord and Savior.
Think about these words and act on them. God wants you to accept him because he loves you. Receive him and watch your life begin to change.
An Evangelist called to preach the gospel all over the world. To lay hands on the sick and to prophecy to everyone. Reaching out to the world that all may be saved.
