If I could say anything to people around the world I think it would have to be, “turn to Jesus and change your life forever”. Hold on just one second, that is what I say to people around the world. I don’t just say it because I am an evangelist and that is what we are supposed to do, I say it because one day Jesus spoke to me and I accepted Him and my life was changed forever.
Speaking to people and telling them about Jesus is a pure joy and not a burden of any kind. People need to know that their life can be better than many think it is. I am not talking about money and wealth; I am talking about peace of mind knowing that when you pass from this world your life is with Jesus and not at the other end of the spectrum and what it has to offer. I am talking about a peace that surpasses all understanding as the bible puts it in Philippians 4:7. People say that does not exist and that is very true if your focus in on this world and what it has for you. I use to think that very same thing until that day when I had nowhere else to turn and the world was saying you are lost and will always be lost and we will not help you, God was saying turn to me and I will show you the way. I will help you with everything; I will change your life and lift you up. The world deserted me but God did just the opposite, He gave me a peace that I had never known before and I actually felt like I was somebody. The truth is, I was always somebody I just did not recognize it. God wants to change your life. He wants to take the pains and the hurts and turn them into peace and comfort. God wants to show you the path that leads to eternal life with Him and show you just how important you are to Him. If you still don’t believe me, then look at what He did just for you. “For God so loved you that He gave His one and only Son so that you would have an abundant life and have it to the fullest. (Paraphrased) John 3:16. God loves you so much you can’t even imagine because you have never been loved that much before. God cares so much that one day He sent His Son just for you. If you were the only person left on earth He would still do the very thing that He did, send Jesus to rescue you. I am so thankful that God reached down that day when I had nowhere else to turn and lifted me up and told me He loved me. I will never forget that day and I will always tell others about Jesus Christ because it is that important. It is indeed a matter of Life and Death. Life if you choose Jesus and Death if you do not, as for me I choose Life. It is easy to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Just Ask! Ask God to forgive you and that you accept Him. Believe that Jesus came to this earth and died for our sins and was crucified on a cross and on the third day rose again and ascended into heaven. Accept Him in the Name of Jesus and allow Him to take control of your life and you will never ever regret that decision. Father in the Name of Jesus I ask you to forgive me and come into my life and take control. I believe that Jesus came and died so that my sins could be forgiven. I believe in you Lord and accept you. In the Name of Jesus! Amen!

Christians, we need to be very conscious and alert to what we allow ourselves to accept as good. The enemy is very devious and if we are going to call ourselves Christians then we need to know what the bible has to say about certain things and though God says to love the sinner but hate the sin those who don’t know the Lord as their Savior are getting laws changed and making things that are wrong seem right and things that are right seem wrong.
Whatever the case may be we cannot accept those things that God says is wrong. It comes in subtly and we accept it. Look at the states that have legalized drugs. They say that it is no big deal and in fact everyone seems to accept it as good, even some Christians. It may seem simple, but it is far more than that because those simple things grow into bigger things. There are other things that have come to light and accepted that is so against the bible, yet people have made it acceptable. We are not set here to judge but to help others come to know Jesus. The bible says in Joshua 24, “but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord”. I get flack all of the time for my beliefs and it really doesn’t matter because I am going to serve God in spite of what others may think. The whole thing boils down to one simple statement, “It is not between you and I it is between you and God.” Nothing more, nothing less just you and God! I chose to serve Jesus at all costs even if others don’t or can’t see why. Maybe one day those who don’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior will come to know Him as I do but I really hope they don’t wait till it’s too late. There is coming a day very soon when Christ is going to return and there will be no more chances. What more do people want? God has been speaking to people for a long time and there have been those who have said they heard that voice but that they would not surrender. How sad will that day be when those who have accepted what the world is giving them and chose to turn away from God will have to face eternity in a place that has no rest, has no peace, has no joy and most of all has no life. There is still time if you are reading this to accept Jesus Christ as you Lord I don’t know, but I think that there are many of you who have had people in your lives that on one hand tell you that they stand behind you and when push comes to shove you end up standing alone. You come up with an idea and they downplay it almost immediately and then later your idea comes to life and they take credit for it. Or, you make a decision that you know will change your life and those around you begin to tell you that is not what you should do.
In ministry many things come about and many things seem so outlandish to most people that there is an immediate judgment as to why you are doing it. I have had experiences where I know that I know what God is telling me to do and other Christians come and tell me that they believe that is not what God is telling me to do. I listen to what they have to say but I do what God tells me to do. My feeling is that either they are jealous at what you are about to take on or that they have selfish motives for their disapproval. It really makes no difference because it is all about God and what He wants. If you know that you know God is speaking to you and you know that you know you are to do something that is out of your character but you feel it is right and of God then go for it and do it. There will be those who think they know better and they will try to try to discourage you in your quest, but you need to follow what God is saying to you. Others have opinions and that is just what they are opinions. If you are waiting on the Lord and expecting an answer from Him and it comes, you need to be obedient to what He tells you. You may have heard that others will lead you astray and I believe that is very true. In my life there have been many things that if I had not let others influence me I could have been a lot different than I am now. But on the other hand, I am exactly who God made me to be and I am who I am because of His guidance. You cannot live your life thinking of what could have been, you live your life by what is and understand that you are who you are because of God and not in spite of Him. Others have an influence in your life and they can lead you down the wrong path, but if you are holding on to the many promises God has given you then you are on the right path. You need to be persistent in what you do and what you say. If God tells you to go to a foreign country and minister, then go to a foreign country and minister. If God tells you to start a bible study then start a bible study. Keep your focus on Christ and you will never get off track as to what you are to accomplish. It is all about Jesus and Jesus alone. Press in. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Walk on water as Peter did. Just keep your eyes on Jesus. Focus and don’t allow the world or friends around you distract you from the calling God has put on your life. Reach out to God first then follow His directions. When we made our first trip to the Philippines, there were those around saying I don’t think God is calling you there and one of those people was me. I had no desire to even leave the state where I live. Others would tell me that I was just hearing voices and I fell into their negativity and was determined not to go. God is more persistent and if He is calling you, you will most definitely know. To make a long story short, God was calling us to go and not only did He have us go, but He provided everything we needed and more. Listen to your heart and not your head. Listen to God and not your friends. Just listen! Be still and know that He is God and press in and do not give up. The woman with the issue of blood would not have been healed if she had given up. The blind man would never have received his sight if he had not pressed in. If you see a pattern here, that pattern would be press in. Never give up and always, always keep your eyes on Jesus and go toward Him. |
